The Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition seeks proposals from Oklahoma artists 30 years of age and younger for Momentum 2019 "Spotlight." Momentum is an interactive, multidisciplinary art event. Through Momentum Spotlight, artists receive honoraria and curatorial guidance on a site-specific project or body of work.
Artists must be 30 years of age or younger and must be residents of Oklahoma during the project period. Proposals must be for the creation of new works. Artists working in all visual media are eligible. Artists must be available for installation and exhibition of work. Past Momentum Spotlight or Art 365 artists are not eligible.
The curators will select three artists who will each receive a $1,000 honorarium and studio visits with the curators. Artists will be highlighted in exhibition marketing.

Entry fee is waived for OVAC members. Entry is $10 for non-members.
PROPOSALS MUST INCLUDE
_Title and Description of proposed project, no more than 400 words
_5-10 images of past work and/or up to 5 minute sample of time-based artwork. Images must be jpegs, no more than 2MB per image. Please label with last name and number corresponding to image list. (example: Smith01.jpg)
_Image info including title, medium, year created and dimensions or include a brief description of samples for time-based artwork
The description of the project proposed should give as much information as possible in 400 words or less explaining the concept for the work and how you will complete it.
Images of accepted entries will be retained by the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition. Submission of work to this exhibition shall constitute agreement on the part of the artist to the conditions set forth in this prospectus and shall further include permission to reproduce work for publication, documentation and the press.
Artists are responsible for any set up and post event pick up of materials. A 30% commission is retained on all works sold at the event.
Late or incomplete entries will not be accepted.
Zoe Larkins is the Assistant Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver. At MCA Denver Zoe has curated exhibitions including Arthur Jafa: Love Is The Message, The Message Is Death (2018), Diego Rodriguez-Warner: Honestly Lying (2018), and Jenny Morgan: SKINDEEP (2017). Prior to joining MCA Denver’s staff, Zoe worked at the Denver Art Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and Creative Time. Zoe has contributed writing to museum and gallery publications, as well as Art in America, artforum.com, and The Art Newspaper. She holds an MA in the History of Art from the Courtauld Institute and a BA in Art History from Scripps College.
